If you are a backstretch employee, work on a Thoroughbred farm or within the Maryland Thoroughbred racing industry, and you are enrolled in school this fall, you may qualify for financial assistance. Deadline for application is July 15, 2019. For more information call Ted Black at 301-459-4408.

About

The Maryland Thoroughbred Scholarship Fund is a joint venture between the Maryland Thorougbred Horsemen's Association, the Maryland Horse Breeders Association, the Maryland Jockey Club and various other individual donors. The program is designed to provide meaningful financial assistance to currently enrolled students who are an active member of the Maryland Thorougbred racing industry.

Application

The Maryland Racing Media Association will award scholarships to backstretch and farm workers enrolled in college this fall.

Applicant must be employed within the Maryland Thoroughbred Industry.

second reference from an individual who is a licensed or recognized member of the Maryland racing industry.

An official copy of upcoming course schedule as issued by the school.

Essay

Answer the following question in your own words: "What are the three most pressing issues the Maryland racing industry faces and what do you see as the solutions?"
